I turned it out in fairly broad daylight, switched it into eco mode to save the bulb, and could still see it clearly. I'll follow up with this review in a few months to make sure nothing goes wrong, but with a 3-year projector warranty I'm not worried at all.
Worth it for $800, for sure. Obviously cheaper is always better, but I was waiting until SOMETHING came out with a nice warranty and from a major seller than was priced under $1000, and finally it has happened -- after 7 years of waiting. All in all, if you are sitting on the fence about replacing an older unit or considering getting your first projection unit that has 1080P resolution, you will not be disappointed if you buy this ViewSonic PRO8200 1080p Home Theater Projector unit.
